How very cool!
By the way, I've been canning tomatoes (and soon apples), and it's been a challenge to find canning jars. It seems most people like the little 4 or 8 oz. jelly jars, so the stores stock those. I had to go to five stores to find the last 30 quart-size canning jars in the area.
I think Farmers' Markets should sell canning, freezing, drying, etc., supplies, don't you? :-)
I happened into their office last weekend in Portland - they are directly above the Hot Lips Pizza place in the Pearl District and these magazines are very cool. I picked up the latest for SF which I had no idea even existed. It's all very exciting!
Thanks so much for mentioning us in your blog. We are excited about the publication of "edible San Diego" and amazed at the interest that has already been generated locally. The link to our website is now functioning and we are in the process of building the site.

Thanks Jeff and Mary for stopping in! I'm certainly looking forward to this new publication!
Oh that is SO COOL! I just heard about the "Edible" magazines a couple of weeks ago, and was disappointed to find out that we didn't have one.
(I found your site when I googled BeWise and CSA... I joined them a month ago and am SO excited about it! I also really appreciated your recent tip about Rainbow Ranch... do you know of anywhere to find locally raised beef or pork?)
And... congratulations on your canning! I'm still intimidated by that one, but you're an inspiration!
Kim, I’m glad you found me! I hope that you’ll check back often and contribute if you can. Our CSA membership has been great fun for me. It’s like Christmas every week! I decided to answer your question about local beef and pork in a whole new post, something I’ve been meaning to do for some time. I’ll get it up by this weekend at the latest!
Oh, I'm definitely planning on stopping by regularly. I'm looking forward to your "meat" post (and whatever else you care to tackle in the future!). And I *LOVED* Animal, vegetable, miracle, although "Omnivore" is way up there too! What did you think of Nestle's books? I haven't read 'em yet.
Kim, I'm almost finished with What to Eat by Marion Nestle and will probably post my response in about two weeks. I've been enjoying reading her blog - she normally posts a couple times a day (short bits) about food policy and nutrition questions. If you haven't already taken a look, you can find it at http://www.whattoeatbook.com.
