To follow up on that news story I posted the other day about the looming water crisis here in San Diego –
Ag Water Outlook for 2008 : The San Diego Farm Bureau, the California Avocado Commission, and the San Diego County Flower and Plant Association are sponsoring two sessions of the Ag Water Outlook for 2008 this afternoon in Escondido. Farmers, ranchers, and nurseries have been invited to meet with irrigation specialists, crop researchers, water districts, irrigation technology vendors, and resource agencies to learn how the strained water supplies and the court decision to protect the smelt (that endangered little fish up north) will affect their businesses. I wish I could be a fly on the wall!
